Week 1 Lab 1 - Ex 3
Toontown:
For these 2 pictures, the shapes used are mostly curved and circular which gives people the "happy" feeling. It gives people an impression of "fun" and "excitement". There are some "funky-ness" and I think that is also because of the irregular shapes - such as the pillars. Comparing the prison pictures, it definitely have a HUGE difference based on the shapes and it reflects differently.
Prisons:
As seen from both pictures, both the prisons are mostly uses simple and uniform shapes like rectangular and squares. And the shapes and mostly very plain and there are no fancy patterns on it. It gives people a sense of "strict" feeling and with very uniformed shape, it gives people very "down" feeling.
Summary:
Comparing these pictures, I had learnt that shapes and different forms/patterns do give different feeling/ emotion on people. Thus, this exercise allows me to understand that whatever design that I am creating, the shapes are definitely important and it reflects the "character" of the design.
